Moving to Tulsa Can Be a Fresh Start

By Julie DeLong, A-1 Freeman Moving Group

Moving to New Home

Whenever you move to a new town, it is a chance to get a fresh start. You may not know anyone. While this might be worrisome at the start, it is also a chance to recreate who you are. You should explore all the great things to do in Tulsa, find new social connections, and work on becoming a better version of yourself.

Get Organized

Once you box up all of your stuff to move to Tulsa, you actually get to start from the ground level in your new home. This is the moment to get things in order once and for all as you begin to unpack all the boxes.

If you have always pondered a new arrangement in your living room or bedroom, go for it. You can switch up the colors, the layout, and even get rid of some things that you no longer want ahead of putting them away. As a side note, it is always best to get rid of them before you even move them – but this is a chance to get organized.

Create "Me" Space

As you unpack and maneuver furniture about in your new place in Tulsa, make sure that you set up an area especially for you. This can be your cozy spot when you have had an insane day. No matter if it is a "man cave" or a book nook in the living room, design a space that you will love spending time in.

Do Something New

We all have activities that we have always dreamed of doing. Maybe you have always wanted to audition for the local theater or take dancing lessons. Once you are in your new locale, why not try it. Find a venue or group that will provide you with the training. It is a chance to learn something new and meet some new people along the way.

Break Bad Habits

You could have a bad habit or two that you are not keen about. It might be that you do not clean your toilet often enough or that you smoked in your old house. Regardless what it is that you need to modify, now is the best time to begin. You are in a new home, which allows you to begin from scratch. If you do not want to stay in the rut with the same habits, make the decision to change. You could also want to write yourself notes every now and then so that you don’t forget why you are curbing those habits.

Meet the Neighbors

You may or may not know all the neighbors in your present block. Once you move, be sure that you make an effort to meet everyone. Although some neighbors may make the first move to welcome you to the neighborhood, it’s ok for you to take the initiative. Meeting those who live next to you can be a great safety feature. You don't have to be best buddies but it can be opportune to have a contact who will watch out for your home when you are away and vice versa.

Keep in mind that moving to Tulsa is only as worrisome as you make it out to be. If you know that you are moving to a new city with the longing to get a fresh start, it can be a positive boost. You may be eager to get started on a new chapter in your life in Tulsa. Make a to-do list for your house and for yourself so that you don’t forget all of the things that you want to achieve. Once you have officially settled in, you can then start on that list.

Best. Move. Ever!
Very pleased with the overall respect and care the men gave to my possessions. Even mailing me very quickly the only thing lost in transit. Would recommend to anyone needing a long distant move.
